Create a Monster Ghost add-on pack

So I finally found a ghost pack that didn't have anything wrong with it.  I'm a year late, but better late than paint smudged.  I don't like the pink CAM wigs, the colors always seem kind of off to me.

Monster High Harpy and Siren CAMs

These never showed up locally.  I love the Harpy.  It's too bad there will never be a matching body and upper limbs.  The Harpy's big, wide-set eyes seem reminiscent of the flying demon girl from the movie V/H/S, so good for her.

 She has a nice skin color in between pink and lavender.  I don't know why her eyebrows are blue, maybe to tie her in with the Siren CAM pieces.

Her bright eyes really stand out.  While they are wide set, she doesn't have a dopey, spaced out look.

The print on the dress is a trendy fashion print.  Lately, many of the MH fashion prints are less stylish and more kiddie, so I appreciate the cute prints even more.

There's not much point in taking her out of the box until I can get some kind of body for her.

The the Siren is really the worst Monster High head out there.  I'm not being a pill, I was honestly surprised to see such a clone-looking doll as an official release.

I hope later waves will look better.  I know sometimes Spectra looks awful, but another shipment of the same edition will look fine.  I photographed two different dolls at different stores, I think the bottom one had smaller eyes, but it wasn't an improvement.

I still haven't seen the two new starter sets.

Ponies, zombies, other stuff

Here are some cheap impulse purchases I made from Hudson's, that I'll probably regret. It's just so hard to resist a 70% markdown.

I got a pair of ponies.  They are pretty cute, but they are practically Happy Meal-level toys compared to the old ponies.  I've got the bumble bee pony somewhere, it's been lonely.  I wish the hair tinsel had been left off of these.  Most of the pleasure of My Little Pony is in messing with the silky hair, tinsel fouls that up.

I also finished my collection of S.L.U.G. Zombies series 2 and 4.  I think I also have all of series 3 and none of series 1.  The line was overpriced, and died because of it.

I think they look good with my C.U.T.I.E. girls, a Mattel line that died 25 years ago for the same reason.

Let's pretend the delay in my posting was due to this laptop sandwich.  It makes my life seems more fun that way.

Kenya and Beauty Girl at Hudson's

I made a quick trip through Louisiana and Mississippi, and hit four Hudson's Dirt Cheap outlets.  I was mostly hunting for practical items, and passed up a lot of Barbie The Look stuff at unimpressive discounts.  IMO it's all so overpriced that even 50-60% off isn't very tempting.

One of the Hattiesburg stores had some Kenya stock at 40% off, but regular stores run better sales than that.  I somehow hadn't seen Kenya or the Monster High clones until now.  The Kenya fashion dolls were all the same skin tone, I expected them to be like SIS.  I didn't care for the modern oversized head, but the doll is well enough made that it looks like a "real" doll instead of a sad $1 clone like Polly.  These were originally dollar store stock, so Polly was also there.

The Kenya Minis are very cute.  I don't collect child dolls, but I think these are cute enough to be tempting.  They were too small to photograph, though.  IIRC they did come in varying skin tones.

The Monster High clone was surprisingly cute, they only had one with a scuffed eye left.  The heads look like Livs, but are much smaller.

They also had a bunch of Beauty Girl dolls.  The box shows lovely collectors' edition Barbie dolls of the past.

Open the box, and get a surprise.

I don't know why clone companies insist on packing the cheapest clones in such uneconomical fancy packaging, but they do.

I did grab a few Target toys at 60-70% off, but managed to not binge.
