I went by Big Lots and bought a Cleo/Deuce set for $15. They both have pretty good faces, I'm happy.
I also saw the Killer Style dolls. The dolls are the same Gloom Beach dolls, but wear simplified versions of the Day at the Maul fashion pack. Cute, but I already have both Gloom Beach girls.
I held out and didn't buy this, kind of regret it now, but not too much. It's in a store 750 miles away, so I'm safe. I like the clothes, but the doll didn't impress me.
A perfect 2010 Lagoona in a worn box mysteriously appeared at my WM a few weeks ago, but I didn't want to buy it before traveling. I should have, it was gone when I went back.
I don't think I've ever seen a doll series sell out so quickly for so long.
I think these are cute, but I want to grab the 2010 versions more.
I feel like I've made too many Monster High posts in a row.
dms_a_jem on Flickr has discovered that Spectra come in two variations. It's more than a slight variation, one looks to the side, while the other looks forward.
I don't know if I want Spectra, I always have to see these things in person. I get the impression that her eyes are transparent, and you're staring through them, into her purple hair.
The Jenny website has a PDF file of the 2011 fashion book. You can download it here. New dolls are available for Jenny, Mirai, and Ayano.
They seem to be pushing younger and younger looks. Anything is better than the 2007-2010 blackout, though.
Licca Castle went back to its regular hours this month. They got a little fluff piece in the news, with a picture of employees with dolls. Workers were furloughed in March, and the Castle was only open on holidays and weekends.
I can't explain it. I see a Draculaura, I have to have it. She's the most obnoxiously pink thing since Sailor Chibi Moon, but I need every single one. I have the Clawd set, and now Gloom Beach and Dawn of the Dance. I need the original, and Dead Tired. I think I can avoid the Fearleading pack, as long as I don't see it in person.
Ghoulia is the first one I followed through with a purchase. After looking at the Physical Deaducation doll, I saw an original with perfect eyes. I bought her.
I'm an adult doll collector, who collects a little bit of everything, as long as it's attractive or interesting.
Almost all the photos I post are mine, with the exception of a handful of company promotional photos.
I'm not a supreme authority on dolls, feel free to disagree with any of my opinions. I don't dictate what others can or can't like.
