Farewell, Fashion Fever Drew FRUiTS style

The "Tokyo Girls" Fashion Fever dolls were selling on eBay near or over $100 per doll at one point, I was too foolish to sell her back then.  I sold her for a fraction of that, but at least I made back what I originally spent, so I'm happy.

This doll was modelled directly from a page of FRUiTS magazine, also seen in the 2001 American paperback of the same name.  It was a shameless little bit of plagiarism, but at least it accurately reflected a fashion worn circa 2000.  I miss the days of Fashion Fever, they were stylish and beautiful dolls.  My photos don't do justice to how bright and vibrant all the colors are.  Look at how much stuff she came with, and these were originally $10 in 2004.

If I had all the money and space in the world, I would have kept her, but she spent more time in a box under my bed than on a shelf.  What's the point of owning a doll if I haven't got the space to look at it?

This line was one of my favorites! I love their style! WOW! They are going for that much!! There use to be a website for all the Fashion Fever dolls and clothes! I looked for it the other day but it must be closed!

They did go that high a few years ago, now most FFs are under $30. They were my favorites, too. I miss that catalog site.

I guess if they actually did go that high, that's the reason a lot of sellers are asking so much for these dolls still. I just saw a gorgeous Lea still in her tube sell on eBay for only $35. I guess more professional sellers can afford to wait in case the prices go back up, since I see a lot of FF era dolls and outfits with asking prices in the $100-200 range. Do you think prices will ever go that high again? I don't; there's so much more new product out there to catch people's attention and spending money.

I don't think they'll go that high again, either. Decora fashion itself isn't that popular anymore, and there really are so many fancier doll options @ $100 these days.
