Grabbed the new pink & red Barbie shoe pack.

There weren't any new fashion singles alongside it, just a dozen or so identical shoe packs.  I really wanted those red shoes.  The design is cute, and the molding is excellent, there's almost no visible seam line.  The excellently designed and molded plastic accessories are the silver lining to modern playline Barbie collecting.

There's a very basic red choker, and a clear pink studded cuff bracelet.

And a bubblegum pink heart purse, a pair of marabou puff slippers, and cats eye sunglasses.

Saw Fashionistas #33 Full Fringe

I saw her at a particularly well-lit store, so my photos are better than usual.  It's an OK doll, just not for me.  The mold has sculpted places for the eyes, but the eyes on this one weren't painted where they were sculpted to be... so it just looked a little off.  Maybe I'll change my mind if I see others with different screening.  I like her shirt and shoes.

Modern Angels Garden line from Licca Castle

In the past few years, Licca Castle has rolled out new Angels Garden Jenny dolls, using the old eye prints, in more modern hair and eye color selections.  Angels Garden International School was a playline series from 1999-2001, designed to be more attractive to then-kids, with 1990's anime styled eye prints.  The friend Lillian even got her own head mold that barely has a nose.

I don't like to steal pics from other sites, but maybe it will seem a bit less egregious if I combine them all into one.  Here are the AG dolls currently advertised on the Licca Castle online shop, there have been other event/store exclusives.

You can see how different the same exact dolls can look, just from a change in paint colors and hairstyles.  These are also made in Japan in small batches, unlike the original AGIS dolls, which were mass produced in China.  I don't own any of the original AGIS dolls, but I would like some of these, some day.  Licca Castle catalog dolls are usually available for a few years, but they do eventually purge them.

Places where you can easily get new Angel's Garden dolls online:

• Licca Castle shop's Angels Garden section.  They don't ship outside of Japan, so anyone who is will need either a shopping service or reshipping service.
• Mandarake.  Here's a search for "Little Factory Jenny," which is apparently how they are marked on the box.
• Found in Japan.  I've never purchased from this site, but they've been around a while, and most of the prices seem fairly reasonable for a small English-speaking shop.

Saw a new-ish set of Fashionistas.

I had already seen each of these three months ago, but I was happy to see the stock is being replenished.  I started to regret passing up the tall Asian and the curvy blonde.  Now that I've seen them a second time, I'm happy again with the decision.  I hope more of the new dolls will show up soon.

#22 "Chambray Chic" has a really big head.  I wouldn't mind this doll with a different hair color, maybe.  This one had hair gel (I hope) all over her face.

#25 "Blue Brocade" is one I want to want, but I already own so many Mbili dolls.  I also don't care for her orange eyes.

Here's #30 "White & Pink Pizzazz" again.  I want to want her, but the head is just so big and flat in person.

The rest of those pseudo-Olympic swimsuit dolls showed up.  The Caucasian one is pretty ordinary.

Fashionista 29 Terrific Teal

I saw her, liked her, and bought her.  There was only one on the shelf, the paint was good.  The top is only printed on the front.  It's a pretty material and print, and the colors compliment the face, but I feel like it overall looks like a clone fashion.  I'll keep buying them even if the fashions aren't so great.  I hope Mattel will keep pumping out more fresh waves of dolls, and I hope they won't self-sabotage by wedging in any more extremely generic dolls, because the shelves are still full of the ones from 2015.
